David Reilly

Mr. Reilly is a trained divorce mediator having completed both his certification training as well as a sixty-hour practicum through the Center for Mediation and Training in New York.  Before becoming a full-time neutral functioning as a mediator in divorce and other matters, as well as an arbitrator, Mr. Reilly practiced for nearly twenty-five years as a litigator and labor and employment attorney both in private practice with Cahill, Gordon & Reindel and later Gibson Dunn & Crutcher, as well as an in-house counsel for a Fortune 100 healthcare company.

Through his litigation experience, Mr. Reilly has gained a keen understanding of the value and advantages of mediation in achieving the optimum outcome for the parties particularly in the area of family and divorce matters.  Further, his involvement in hundreds of negotiations has enabled him to become very adept in assisting parties to transition away from positional bargaining and, in turn, embrace interest based negotiations, so as to provide them with the greatest opportunity of achieving outcomes that best serve their mutual and respective interests.

Mr. Reilly is very aware of and attentive to the particular sensitivities involved in divorce mediation.  He is committed to assisting divorcing couples in making decisions and fashioning solutions that are best for them and their family.  He firmly believes that mediation, a process in which the couple controls and shapes the results, much better serves this objective than the litigation alternative.

After graduating from Siena College, where he received a B.A., summa cum laude, in political science, Mr. Reilly attended the New York University School of Law, where he received his J.D., cum laude, and was a member of the Order of the Coif.
